There are unique challenges for every drain cleaning problem. Earthworm has been drain cleaning for many years, and has watched the industry evolve. Techniques that may work well on one type of clog may be harmful for another.
“Snaking” a Drain
Drain cleaning from years ago would commonly include cabling or “snaking” a drain. That type of service is still used today but with questionable results. That rooter type of work will sometimes only put a small hole through the middle of the clog. Your sink or tub will then slowly drain through the small hole caused by the roto cable making it seen like the problem has been resolved. But the clog will soon return and so will your frustration.
Sometimes homeowners try and do it themselves, but often they are just wasting money on the renting of a cable or worse; they do damage to themselves, their house or their pipes. With the wrong techniques, a simple drain cleaning can become a bigger issue and expense. Nowadays this technique is not used that much, due to injuries and poor results. We do still have a few of the rooter type machines just to keep options open to us. Please read more about cabling in the drop down.
Jetting a Drain
High velocity jetting is our most popular type of drain cleaning. Jetting has been around for 30+ years and has rapidly become the choice of many drain care specialists. Please read more about high velocity jetting in the drop down.
Rodder Service
Rodder service is a technique that is commonly used by municipalities. Few commercial drain care companies own this type of equipment; but we do, because we want to offer multiple options to our customers. We are serious about drain cleaning and always want to be able to meet your needs. Read more about rodder service.
